Lok Sabha Polls Date: The schedule for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections will be released by the Election Commission of India on Saturday, March 16, according to the poll panel.

Speaking to X, the EC spokesperson announced that the Election Commission will hold a press conference to announce the schedule on Saturday at 3 pm.

Hours after Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, the two recently appointed election commissioners took over the position on Friday, the poll panel made its announcement. On Thursday, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led selection panel named the two as election commissioners.

The Lok Sabha election dates for 2019 were declared on March 10. The 17th Lok Sabha members were chosen through seven phases of voting that took place between April 11 and May 19.

With 303 seats out of the 543-member Lok Sabha, the BJP led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi won by a landslide, according to the results, which were announced on May 23, 2019.
