Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan sworn in as Andhra’s Chief Minister and Deputy

On Wednesday, at a lavish ceremony held at Kesarapalli IT Park next to Gannavaram Airport in the Krishna district, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader N Chandrababu Naidu was sworn in as the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, with Jana Sena Party (JSP) leader Pawan Kalyan serving as his deputy.

Gov. S. Abdul Nazeer gave the oath of office to Naidu and Kalyan. 24 were sworn in, including Jana Sena Party political affairs committee chairman Nadendla Manohar, TDP general secretary and Naidu’s son Nara Lokesh, and K Atchannaidu, the president of the party’s Andhra Pradesh branch.

The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, along with senior leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and federal ministries Amit Shah and other attended the magnificent event.

Superstars Rajnikanth and Chiranjeevi, as well as former vice president M Venkaiah Naidu and former chief justice of India NV Ramana, were also in attendance.

Naidu has held the position of chief minister of Andhra Pradesh for four times, the second of which was following the split in 2014.

Naidu became the chief minister in 1995, the year before the Andhra split, and he held that office for nine consecutive years, until 2004. In 2014, the TDP leader was appointed chief minister of the split Andhra again, a position he held till 2019.

Tuesday’s Telugu Desam Legislature Party and NDA partners chose Naidu to lead them in separate meetings. The TDP has announced a list of the 21 MLAs who would be in the Cabinet, together with three Jana Sena Party MLAs and one BJP MLA.

Recently finished simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the southern state saw a landslide victory for the NDA, which is made up of the TDP, BJP, and Janasena. The NDA secured a massive majority of 164 out of 175 Assembly seats and 21 out of 25 Lok Sabha seats.
