Amul, a dairy company, asked a Noida-based woman client to return an ice cream tub that she said included a centipede. The dairy major has committed to looking at the situation in great detail.
A centipede was discovered inside an Amul ice cream tub that a Noida woman had purchased via an instant delivery service. On June 15, the woman, Deepa Devi, posted a photo of the bug in the tub on social media. According to officials, Devi has even pleaded with food safety authorities to intervene.
The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) expressed apologies for the customer’s inconvenience. GCMMF uses the Amul brand to promote all dairy products.
In an official statement, Amul added, “We deeply regret the inconvenience caused to her because of this incident.”
After speaking with Devi, the company said it would like the ice cream tub returned so it could be looked into further.
