Amul intends to increase its product offering in the US market

Amul: The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), a dairy product distributor under the well-known Amul brand, is getting ready to increase the range of products it offers in the American market. This action comes after fresh milk was successfully introduced in partnership with the Michigan Milk Producers Association.

  • “In the US and other international markets, there is a significant demand for fresh items. The Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd.’s managing director, Jayen Mehta, stated, “We would be expanding with other goods like dahi, lassi buttermilk, cream, and paneer soon (GCMMFL).

Mehta also underlined in his speech the importance of milk to India’s agriculture industry. He pointed out that milk has surpassed conventional staples like rice and wheat to become India’s most important agricultural crop. Mehta’s projection indicates that India’s impact in the dairy business is expanding, since the country is expected to contribute one-third of the world’s milk supply within the next ten years.

GCMMF has already introduced four milk varieties to meet the dietary needs of the Asian community in the United States as well as the Indian diaspora. Due to their positive reception, a larger selection of dairy products can now be introduced.
