To Put It Briefly

  • Arvind Kejriwal’s health is reviewed by the AIIMS medical board via video conference.
  • Nothing has been added to the list of recommended medications.
  • The chief minister of Delhi requested that the two insulin units be continued.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been asked to continue taking two units of insulin while incarcerated by a five-member medical board that was appointed by a Delhi court, an insider at Tihar Jail informed India Today TV. The source claimed that Kejriwal is “completely healthy” and that no modifications have been made to the list of medications prescribed.

A group of five AIIMS physicians examined Kejriwal’s health via video conference on Saturday, under the directives of a Delhi court. According to the source, the session lasted roughly thirty minutes and was attended by two doctors from Tihar jail.

“The board requested that Arvind Kejriwal keep taking the same medications he was currently taking. According to the source, Kejriwal was asked to continue taking two units of insulin while he was in jail.

Following a surge in his blood sugar level to 320 earlier this week, the AAP supremo received his first insulin dosage in Tihar Jail.

Crequest for daily video conference appointments with his doctor was denied by the Delhi court last week. But the court ordered the Tihar jail officials to form a medical board with physicians from AIIMS to determine whether or not the AAP supremo, who has Type 2 diabetes, needed insulin.

The court permitted home-cooked meals as well, but stipulated that Kejriwal’s doctor’s diet plan must be properly followed. The ED claimed that Kejriwal was purposefully consuming sweets, including as aloo puri and mangoes, to elevate his blood sugar levels in order to establish eligibility for medical bail. This led to the court decision.

The Delhi CM was allegedly the target of a plot by the AAP to kill him in prison by refusing him insulin and other diabetes medications.

The Delhi excise policy was connected to a money laundering case that led to Kejriwal’s detention by the ED on March 21. Since April 1, he has been detained at Tihar Jail No. 2.
