In relation to the Delhi liquor policy case, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was placed under 14 days of judicial custody on Monday. After Kejriwal’s custody with the Enforcement Directorate (ED) ended today, the verdict was delivered by Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court.

Additional Solicitor General SV Raju, representing the ED, stated during the hearing today that the agency is not requesting any more remand in view of the Supreme Court’s recent ruling in Senthil Balaji’s case.

Additionally, Arvind Kejriwal’s attorneys have filed a request to permit the Delhi Chief Minister to read three books while incarcerated: Ramayan, Bhagavad Geeta, and How Prime Ministers Decide, written by journalist Neerja Chaudhary.

In addition, the Delhi High Court has mandated that the Enforcement Directorate submit a progress report to the trial court regarding a public interest litigation (PIL) aiming to prevent Arvind Kejriwal from issuing directives or orders while in custody. The federal agency must handle the PIL as though it were its own representation, per the High Court’s order.

Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party, Mehbooba Mufti, the PDP, former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut, NCP (SCP) chief Sharad Pawar, and Also Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge were among those who participated in the “Loktantra Bachao” rally at the Ramlila Maidan.

Kalpana Soren, the wife of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, and Sunita Kejriwal, the wife of Arvind Kejriwal, both spoke to the crowd.

“I present six guarantees on behalf of the INDIA Alliance,” stated a message written by her husband, which was read aloud by Sunita Kejriwal. First off, the entire nation won’t experience power outages. Second, low-income individuals would receive free electricity. Third, we’re going to construct government schools in each village. Fourth, we’re going to construct Mohalla Clinics in each village. Every district will have a multispecialty government hospital. Everyone would receive medical care at no cost.

“The fifth would be paying farmers the right price for their produce. Sixth, for seventy-five years, Delhi’s citizens have been subjected injustice. Delhi will become an independent state. Within five years, we will fulfill these six promises. Where the funds for these assurances will come from has all been planned by me. I’ve grown more determined while incarcerated, and I plan to release myself soon.”
