Bata India names Deepika Deepti as their new marketing director

Deepika Deepti has been named head of marketing by footwear retailer Bata India, the business announced in a news release on Friday.

With a focus on accessory and garment design, Deepti is a National Institute of Fashion Technology alumna with over 20 years of experience in business and marketing roles at Adidas and Camp SMA. She was instrumental in helping Adidas build its business in India and create Adidas Originals, Yeezy, and Neo. Serving as CEO of Camp SMA, she oversaw the Veg Non-Veg, Bhaane, and a strategic alliance with Nike India portfolios.

The managing director and chief executive officer of Bata India, Gunjan Shah, stated, “I am confident that Deepika’s expertise in driving business growth and building strong brand equity will reinforce our position as the industry leader as Bata India continues to innovate and adapt to evolving consumer preferences.”

Deepti was senior vice president of marketing at Metro Brands Ltd. before she joined Bata India.

“I am thrilled to be embarking on this new journey and am looking forward to introducing distinctive experiences for Bata’s extensive array of brands. Deepika Deepti expressed her excitement, “I’m looking forward to working with the great team and using our combined experience to further boost the brand’s position in the industry.

The leading footwear company in India, Bata India, serves 25,000 clients daily and sells 50 million pairs annually. More than 2,150 stores, including company-owned, franchised, in-store, multi-brand, and point-of-sale locations, are operated by the retailer. A few of the brands that fall under the umbrella of Bata India are NorthStar for sneakerheads, kids’ brand Bubblegummers, kids’ brand Floatz, high-end footwear brand NineWest, athleisure brand Power, Bata Red Label for trendy global styles, and Bata Comfit for tech-enabled comfort in daily wear.
