There were some last-minute alterations made to the flagging-off ceremony’s location because the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra was originally supposed to begin in the nation’s capital, Imphal. In this regard, on January 10, we met with Chief Minister N Biren Singh, but we were informed that permission would not be granted. Later that evening, Hapta Kangjeibung ground was granted authorization by an order, but only for a certain number of attendees,” he continued.

In the presence of DGP Rajiv Singh, Keisham Meghachandra said that the party’s state unit representatives met with Chief Secretary Vineet Joshi. Congress assured the administration regarding the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra during the meeting, which was also attended by the deputy commissioner (DC) and the spatula param of Imphal East.

“We were informed that the location can accommodate no more than 1,000 people. We were in a dangerous scenario because the authorization had not been obtained. Thoubal DC granted authorization late on Thursday night to flag off the Yatra from a private property in the district’s Khongjom neighborhood,” he said.
