BJP picks Ujjain MLA Mohan Yadav as the CM of Madhya Pradesh.

Mohan Yadav, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), was announced as the next chief minister-elect on Monday.

As a party employee, I am a small worker. I express my gratitude to the entire group, including the state and central leaders. I will attempt to carry out my obligations with your love and support, Yadav said.

Following a meeting at the BJP headquarters in Bhopal, the 58-year-old leader was formally named as the party’s legislative leader.

The state’s deputy chief ministers, Jagdish Deora and Rajendra Shukla, have been named, while Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has been named Speaker of the Assembly.

BJP observers, such as national secretary Asha Lakra, president of the BJP OBC Morcha K Laxman, and chief minister of Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar, discussed the names with the winning MLA-elects during the meeting.

Mohan Yadav: who is he?

Mohan Yadav, a longtime member of the BJP, was born in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, on March 25, 1965. He is well-known as a businessman in addition to his political pursuits.

Having emerged victorious from the Ujjain Dakshin constituency in the Madhya Pradesh elections of 2023, Yadav is currently the Minister of Higher Education in the former government. 2013 marked his first MLA election.

Ten days after the Samajwadi Party of Madhya Pradesh overwhelmingly won 163 out of 230 seats in the Assembly election, effectively defeating the incumbent, Yadav was sworn in as the new chief minister. Not having a chief ministerial face, the Bharatiya Janata Party had run for office for the first time in twenty years.

Yadav, after Sunderlal Patwa, Uma Bharti, Babulal Gaur, and Shivraj Singh Chouhan, will be the fifth chief minister to be nominated by the BJP. Chouhan was the chief minister for over 16 years out of these.
