HCCB’s Water ATM Initiative in Nalbari Integrates Sustainability

HCCB’s Water ATM: The Y4D foundation and Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Private Limited (HCCB), a well-known FMCG firm in India, have partnered to launch a Drinking Water ATM at the Natya Mandir premises in Nalbari, Assam, marking a significant step towards community welfare and sustainable water security. Prominent dignitaries such as Smt. Varnali Deka, IAS, the district commissioner of Nalbari district, and Shri. Jayanta Mallabaruah, the honorable minister of PHED, SEED, and tourism in Assam, attended the opening of the Drinking Water ATM.

The Drinking Water ATM, which is positioned to assist about 4000 community members, is an example of HCCB’s larger dedication to guaranteeing sustainable water security and supporting local empowerment programs.

District Commissioner of the Nalbari district in Assam, Varnali Deka, IAS, stated: “Programs that support the general welfare of the populace and strengthen the community have a lasting effect on lives.” We are pleased that HCCB is actively facilitating the local Nalbari community’s access to safe and clean water. Thousands of individuals are impacted by this development, which also opens the door for constructive transformation in the area. In addition to delivering water to guests at all events held at the popular 500-person Natya Mandir, the Water ATM will support over 150 stores and commercial establishments as well as 50 street sellers in the surrounding area.

“At Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, we recognise the need for community empowerment and the challenges encountered in accessing safe, clean drinking water,” stated Himanshu Priyadarshi, Chief Public Affairs, Communications, and Sustainability Officer, HCCB. An important first step in meeting this requirement is the installation of Drinking Water ATM in the Nalbari district. The program helps to guarantee that everyone has access to water and sanitation and is in line with our overarching goal of promoting community welfare. Our unwavering dedication to promoting constructive change in the communities we serve is demonstrated by these initiatives.”

In addition to the water initiative, HCCB has already worked to empower women in Assam and the local community. This involves putting a digital smartboard for tech-enabled instruction in a nearby school and upskilling over 400 women in digital and financial literacy. Additionally, plans to provide 20 women in Nalbari with equipment and training in bee farming are intended to improve employment, promote welfare, and equip women with useful skills.
