Kangana Ranaut claimed that Subash Chandra Bose was India’s initial Prime Minister, leading to criticism online about her political acumen

Kangana Ranaut, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for the Mandi seat in Himachal Pradesh, said on Thursday that Netaji Subash Chandra Boss, the freedom fighter, was “India’s first Prime Minister,” sparking reactions on social media. “Clarify me one thing, where did India’s first PM Netaji Subash Chandra Bose go when we got independence?” Kangana Ranaut asked during a television interview.

Kangana Ranaut has frequently stated that Modi’s election as India’s prime minister in 2014 marked the beginning of the country’s true independence.

One commenter on the video going viral on social media stated, “Kangana Ranaut’s IQ is 110”.

“Vote for educated and sensible people,” wrote Swati Maliwal, a former chair of the Delhi Commission for Women.

On the X platform, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Vinay Mishra made fun of Kangana by calling her a “graduate in Quantum History.”

Someone commented, “Kangana is the pinnacle of knowledge.”

“Don’t take her lightly – she will go ahead in the list of BJP leaders,” wrote Congresswoman Supriya Shrinate, who also shared Kangana’s statement.

Supriya Shrinate was censured by the Election Commission recently for speaking disparagingly about women’s dignity.

Through Shrinate’s accounts, a divisive remark against Kangana was shared on social media. Nevertheless, in the wake of a social media controversy, Shrinate deleted the divisive comments from all of her accounts, stating that someone else with access to her accounts had posted them instead of her.

The BJP announced on March 24 that Kangana Ranaut would be one of 111 candidates running in the Lok Sabha elections. The outspoken BJP and PM Modi supporter Ranaut said in an Instagram post that she is honored to be joining the party.

“Today the national leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced me as their Lok Sabha candidate from my birthplace Himachal Pradesh, Mandi (constituency).” I have always supported Bharat and Bhartiya Janta unconditionally.

“I respect the decision made by the high command to run in the Lok Sabha elections. I’m thrilled and honored to be an official party member. I hope to be a trustworthy public servant and a deserving “karyakarta.” On her Instagram Stories, the 37-year-old actor expressed her gratitude.
