Concerning the New Nalanda University Campus

With 100 acres of water and a Net Zero area, the new Nalanda University campus is spread across 455 acres and harmoniously blends traditional and modern architectural elements. The Hindu stated that the 2007 initiative to create this new university gathered momentum as a result of a recommendation made by APJ Abdul Kalam, the president at the time.

In 2010, the university was legally formed as a national institution with the government providing 455 acres and a special Act of Parliament.

With just 14 pupils, the institution temporarily opened for business in 2014 before formally starting. Following that, work on the permanent campus in Pilkhi village started in 2017.

A sports complex, an international center, two academic buildings, forty classrooms, two 300-seat auditoriums, a hostel with space for about 550 students, a 2,000-seat amphitheater, and more are all features of the new Nalanda University.

According to the Indian Express, it provides 137 scholarships for overseas students in addition to a broad range of academic programs like short-term certificate courses, postgraduate and doctorate research courses, and other courses.

Because of this much awaited visit by the Prime Minister, the university is expected to gain a great deal more prominence throughout the world.
