Congress questions the timing as PM Modi releases the Rs 18,000 crore PM-Kisan installment.

Khunti/New Delhi: On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi disbursed Rs 18,000 crore to over 8 crore farmers nationwide as the fifteenth installment of the PM-Kisan scheme. PM used a button to electronically transfer funds from a Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas celebration in the Khunti district of Jharkhand to the farmers’ bank accounts. used a button to electronically transfer funds from a Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas celebration in the Khunti district of Jharkhand to the farmers’ bank accounts.

Farmers are intended to receive assistance in meeting their agricultural and other incidental needs through the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan). Under the scheme, farmers receive three equal installments of financial assistance, totaling Rs 6,000 per year, transferred to their bank accounts. More than Rs 2.62 lakh crore was transferred before this installment.

Meanwhile, the Congress questioned whether the money’s release was “intentional” and raised concerns about it just two days before assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

On November 17, voting for the second phase of the election will take place in neighboring Chhattisgarh, while Madhya Pradesh will only hold one phase of voting. November 7 was the date of the first phase.

According to a post made by Congress general secretary in-charge of communications Jairam Ramesh on X in Hindi, the sixth installment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi was made available on August 1, 2020, and the ninth installment on August 9, 2021.

According to Ramesh, whose party wants to beat the BJP in Madhya Pradesh and hold onto power in Chhattisgarh, the 12th installment was released on October 17 of last year.

“As of November 15, 2023, or today, the fifteenth installment under PM-Kisan is due. The fifteenth installment is being released today, he stated in the post, “which is ironic given that elections are scheduled for Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh in two days, Rajasthan in ten days, and Telangana in fifteen.”

“Is this delay not intentional?” Rakesh enquired.

On November 25 in Telangana and November 30 in Rajasthan, elections are planned. December 3 is the date of the vote counting for these states plus Mizoram.
