Ram temple: Banks and insurers to close for half-day on Jan 22.

Ram temple: All Central Government institutions, offices, and industrial establishments are to observe the half-day, according to an order issued by the Central Government. Due to the Ram temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya on January 22, public sector banks, insurance firms, financial institutions, and regional rural banks will be closed for a half-day, according to a Ministry of Finance order released on Thursday.

“Half-day closing (till 2:30 PM) of Central Government Offices, Central Institutions, and Central Industrial Establishments on January 22, 2024” was the topic of the directive. All Central Government offices, Central Institutions, and Central Industrial Establishments across the country will observe a half-day closure until 2:30 pm, according to an order issued earlier in the day by the Department of Personnel and Training.

According to the announcement from the finance ministry on Thursday, the DOPT order covers RRBs and public sector financial institutions, enabling staff members to take part in the “Pran Pratishtha” celebration.

“To enable employees to participate in the Ram Lalla ‘Pran Pratishtha’ celebrations, the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has issued an order regarding Central Institutions and Central Industrial Establishments. This order also applies to all Public Sector Banks, Public Sector Insurance Companies, Public Sector Financial Institutions, and Regional Rural Banks.”

The department took the decision, according to officials, since workers all throughout the nation had asked for a day off to take part in the celebration. According to a government source, “organized groups and organizations in India and overseas have planned a variety of activities to coincide with the ceremony.”

At 12:30 pm on January 22, the Ram Temple will hold its “Pran-Pratishtha” event, which will be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other dignitaries. Six days of preparation preceded the momentous day, with the festivities starting at the Ayodhya temple complex on January 16. Preparations for the “Pran-Pratishtha” include specific rites performed every day. According to an official, plans are in place for the ceremony to be shown live on big screens in public locations both domestically and internationally.
