TDP Unveils 2nd List Of 34 Nominees for Andhra Assembly polls

Amravati: After releasing its first list of 34 candidates a few days earlier, the Telugu Desam Party(TDP) unveiled its second list on Thursday for the upcoming Andhra Pradesh assembly elections.

Naidu posted a message on X stating, “The public has already been presented with the first list of candidates running for the Telugu Desam Party in the upcoming 2024 elections.” With 34 more candidates, we are now presenting to you the second list.

“Public opinion has been given priority in this list as well, as always in the selection of candidates,” the post continued. I implore the state’s citizens to bless and ensure the victory of every TDP candidate.

BJP and TDP’s Agreement to Share Seats

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and Jana Sena Party (JSP) inked a seat-sharing agreement in Andhra Pradesh on Monday, ahead of the state assembly and Lok Sabha elections.

The agreement states that in the parliamentary elections, the TDP will run for 17 seats, the JSP for two seats, and the BJP for six seats.
According to the statement, the TDP will run for 144 seats, the JSP for 21, and the BJP for 10 seats in the assembly elections.

After the three parties met in Delhi to formalize their alliance, the seat-sharing arrangement was decided upon at a meeting that took place in Amaravati today. There are 175 Assembly seats and 25 Lok Sabha seats in the state.

Why Was Naidu Subjected to Criticism?

Naidu’s opponents have chastised him severely for his alliance with the BJP. After the Modi administration refused to give Andhra Pradesh Special Category Status (SCS), he left the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in 2018.

As the BJP has betrayed the people on all fronts in the last ten years, APCC president YS Sharmila demanded that Naidu give the people of the state an explanation for his decision to align with them.

April or May is predicted to be the time for Lok Sabha elections.
