Top May 8 Events: On May 8, Andhra Pradesh will host a rally for Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In addition, a number of businesses, including Tata Power and L&T, will release their Q4 earnings today.   • At 2:00 pm on this May 8, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak at a Lok Sabha election meeting in the Annamayya district of Andhra Pradesh. After that, on Wednesday at around five o’clock in the evening, he will start a roadshow at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium on Bandar Road in Vijayawadas.
  • On May 8, Tata Power will release its March quarter (Q4) financial results. Tata Power will hold a conference call for earnings today following the release of its quarterly results.
  • On Wednesday, the Supreme Court of India will consider cases pertaining to the forest fires in Uttarakhand. According to petitions, almost 90% of fires are “man-made.” during 900 forest fire occurrences were reported in Uttarakhand during the previous six months, according to certain media reports.
  • The University of Delhi (DU) will host a 2.5-kilometer “Run for Viksit Bharat” event on May 8 as a part of PM Modi’s Viksit Bharat Program, with the goal of raising awareness in society to make India a developed nation by 2047. Today’s event is expected to attract up to 5,000 students.
  •  The big construction company Larsen & Toubro (L&T) will make its Q4 results announcement on May 8. Media reports state that the corporation is anticipated to declare a ₹4,109 crore consolidated net profit for the January–March quarter.
  • IPL 2024: At the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad, on May 8, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will play the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). With six victories in their last 11 games, SRH is ranked fourth in the standings. Two of their last five games have been victories.
