Vijayashanthi: BJP Has Called Chandrasekhar Rao "Corrupt"

Vijayashanthi: BJP Has Called Chandrasekhar Rao “Corrupt,” But Has Taken No Action Against Him

A former actor who is now a politician, Vijayashanthi stated on Saturday that the BRS and the saffron party are working together and that the BJP has not moved to remove Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao despite calling him “corrupt.”

Speaking to the media present here, she stated that while searches were done on a number of leaders by national organizations like the ED, Rao was not one of them.

“The Bharatiya Janata Party didn’t take the action against Mr. KCR that we were expecting it to,” Numerous leaders are the target of ED and CBI raids. Why is it that the BJP is unable to act against KCR, the most corrupt person, in the same way that it has against other lawmakers? she enquired.

In the presence of AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge, veteran actress and former MP Vijayashanthi resigned from the BJP on Friday ahead of the Telangana assembly elections and joined the Congress party again.

Kharge formally invited her to join the party and offered her a tricolor scarf.

The 57-year-old actor, who defected from the Congress and joined the saffron party in 2020, hasn’t participated in any of the BJP’s recent initiatives.

2009 marked the start of her political career when she won the Medak Lok Sabha seat on a BRS (subsequently TRS) ticket. Later, she joined the Congress and ran an unsuccessful campaign from the same constituency because of disagreements with Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
